I drew a smile,
And put it on my face,
And faced the world,
Standing ever so tall.
I drew a frown,
And threw it away,
And hoped the world,
Wouldn't seek it at all.
I drew a laugh,
And freed it to the world,
Seeing if all the colors,
Wouldn't fade to gray.
I drew some tears,
Kept them in my pocket,
And from the light of day,
I hid them forever.
I drew myself,
And hated the result,
So I crumbled the drawing,
And let it rot away.
And put it on my face,
And faced the world,
Standing ever so tall.
I drew a frown,
And threw it away,
And hoped the world,
Wouldn't seek it at all.
I drew a laugh,
And freed it to the world,
Seeing if all the colors,
Wouldn't fade to gray.
I drew some tears,
Kept them in my pocket,
And from the light of day,
I hid them forever.
I drew myself,
And hated the result,
So I crumbled the drawing,
And let it rot away.
